"Lo Mejor de Mí" (English: The Best of Me) is a song written by Rudy Pérez and first recorded by Cuban salsa singer, Rey Ruiz in 1993. In 1997, Cristian Castro covered the song on his fifth album, Lo Mejor de Mi as the lead single.

The song was originally performed by Cuban salsa singer, Rey Ruiz on his album, Mi Media Mitad. Cristian Castro had just left Mexican record label, Fonovisa and signed on with Sony BMG Latin. His first album under the record label, Lo Mejor de Mí was released in 1997. Rudy Perez, who composed the song, was also the producer of the album which received a Grammy Award-nomination for Best Pop album. The song was received a Billboard Latin Music award for "Hot Latin Track of the Year - Pop". [1]
During the week of November 22, 1997, the song reached number one on Hot Latin Tracks.[2] The song became Cristian's fourth overall single to reach number-one on Hot Latin Tracks.
